due_date_calculator.jpgThe Natural Cycle IVF protocol offered by IVF1 provides a safe and successful alternative to the conventional IVF procedure. Natural Cycle IVF lowers the health risks attributed to high dosages of fertility drugs. No fertility medications injections or oral medications are used to increase a woman’s production of eggs. Only her one naturally produced egg is harvested for fertilization in vitro. This one, high quality egg offers high chances of pregnancy success.

Natural Cycle IVF

This holistic protocol is ideal for:

  • Woman who do not want to take fertility drugs for medical reasons
  • Women who do not want to absorb the high cost of fertility medications
  • Women who do not want to take fertility meds for moral/ethical/religious reasons
  • Women who are in their advanced maternal years – over 35
  • Women who are unable to produce multiple eggs via fertility drug administration
  • Women who want to avoid multiple pregnancy
  • Women who do not want to freeze multiple eggs or embryos for future transfers

Natural Cycle IVF Procedure

Dr. Randy S. Morris – founder and medical director of IVF1 in Chicago – uses an evidence based approach to determine the protocols for every IVF procedure performed.

  • Although her menstrual cycle is regulated through hormone medication for optimum performance of egg retrieval surgery, the patient undergoing Natural Cycle IVF is not administered high dosages of fertility drugs to stimulate the production of multiple egg follicles
  • The patient merely produces her one natural egg per monthly cycle
  • The development of the patient’s egg follicle is monitored through blood level hormone measurements and pelvic ultrasounds
  • The doctor determines the prime time to induce ovulation of the egg via hCG injection administration
  • The patient’s egg is surgically retrieved by the doctor using a transvaginal ultrasound-guided aspiration tool
  • IVF is a simple outpatient surgical procedure performed under local anesthesia – the patient can resume normal activities the day after the procedure
  • The patient’s egg are then fertilized with sperm in a controlled embryological laboratory through Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
  • The embryos is monitored in vitro until it reaches an optimum stage of development – the blastocyst transfer stage
  • The embryo is then transferred to the woman’s uterus via an insemination catheter
